Partners for Change Located in historic downtown Jacksonville, Edward Waters University (EWU), established in 1866, was the first institution founded in Florida for the education of African Americans. Situated on the EWU campus is the Schell-Sweet Community Resource Center (SSCRC). The SSCRC was launched in 1995 to support and serve its surrounding at-risk community with the vision of being “a community and academic support model, promoting positive lifestyle changes and best practices, focusing on social, health and educational services.” In 2020, NLP Logix was introduced to EWU-SSCRC, providing computer technology training and resources to seniors at the Schell-Sweet Community Resource Center (SSCRC).
